Japan is finally opening up to travelers and tourists again!

1. New Border Measures from October 11, 2022

From October 11, 2022, except for returnees and entrants with symptoms of suspected COVID-19 infection, on-arrival test at the quarantine station, self-quarantine in places such as their own residence or accommodations, and refraining from the use of public transportation will no longer be required. On the other hand, all returnees and entrants will be are required to show either a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate of three doses of vaccines prescribed on the Emergency Use List of the World Health Organization (WHO), or a certificate of the negative test result of pre-departure COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours prior to departure from the original country/region. This measure will be applied from 0:00 AM (JST) on October 11, 2022.

2. Current border measures until October 10, 2022

Based on scientific knowledge on the Omicron variant, infection situations in other countries/regions, risk assessments on inflow of the variant into Japan, efficacy of vaccines etc, taking into full account of risks of inflow of the variant from other countries/regions, following measures will be implemented in accordance with separate designations under this Measures. (Note) From 0:00 AM (JST) on September 7, 2022, all cross-border travelers and returnees with a valid vaccination certificate of COVID-19 are no longer required to submit the certificate of negative test result of pre-departure COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to departure from the original country/region.

@Maria Yes, it took a while for Japan to open after covid but now its finally time!
Well there are many places that have nice Nature maybe check out Kumano kodo it has a beautiful waterfall and shrines. Also Shikoku which is rarely visited by non-Japanese has a lot of beautiful nature with the cleanest river from all of Japan close to kochi.

That is so cool it took so long for Japan to open again…
I am not sure where to go yet do you have any suggestions I want to see something different than the last visits I went to Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto before.
I would like to see some more of the Beautiful nature I saw from the Shinkansen.

Endlich wird das reisen nach Japan wieder möglich sein!
Ich hatte einen Urlaub in Kansai Osaka, Kyoto, Nara geplant aber es wurde abgesagt…
Jetzt kann ich endlich diesen Urlaub nachholen! :D
